2000 y\u0131l\u0131nda Ege \u00dcniversitesi, Edebiyat Fak\u00fcltesi, Arkeoloji B\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc, Klasik Arkeoloji Ana Bilim Dal\u0131 \u00f6\u011fretim \u00fcyelerinden Prof. Dr. G\u00fcrcan Polat ba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131nda bir ekip taraf\u0131ndan y\u00fczey ara\u015ft\u0131rmas\u0131 ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirilmi\u015ftir. Y\u00fczey ara\u015ft\u0131rmas\u0131nda ve 2001 y\u0131l\u0131nda ba\u015flat\u0131lan bilimsel kaz\u0131larda Kaleta\u015f\u0131 Tepesi’nde sur ile \u00e7evrili bir yerle\u015fim, Ge\u00e7 Roma D\u00f6nemi’ne ait bir villa(Yama\u00e7 Ev) ve daha k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck \u00f6l\u00e7ekli ancak g\u00f6steri\u015fli bir ev, M\u00d6 8. y\u00fczy\u0131ldan ba\u015flayan ve t\u00fcm yerle\u015fim tabakalar\u0131n\u0131 ortaya koyan alanlar, Nekropolis, Kent Suru gibi \u00f6nemli bulgular ortaya konmu\u015ftur.<\/p>\n\t

After these early researches there were no work done at this location for a while. When the shoreline location where Antandross is located went through zone change in 1989; and was open for public construction which involved excavations and diggings for the site-building, some burial sites were discovered; and as a result of this, in 1991 Museum Recovery Excavations were started.As a result of these studies, it was realized that this area was used as Necropolis between 7th and 2nd Centuries.B.C.
