The studies in this area showed that the architectural remnants started about 20 cm below the surface.<\/p>\n<p>A Byzantine period stratum that was largely destroyed during the agricultural ploughs forms the first cultural layer. Especially on the south of the \u00c7anakkale road, three Byzantine structures were found and on the eastside of them a Byzantine cemetery was unearthed. These dense findings in such a narrow area have brought to mind that they may be the remains of the annexes of a church or a chapel.
